Group HR Manager

Overview

Purpose

Reporting to the VP Operations, the Group HR Manager role is to oversee the people across all of our teams.
Our team members are crucial to the implementation of our epic guest experiences. This role oversees recruitment, training, team building, and career development of Collective Hospitality’s team members. You will drive HR and initiatives such as hiring, benefits, employee relations and training programs, to ensure compliance for our millennials’s young dynamic, fun, outgoing hostels team members.
Whilst promoting a positive team culture, the Director of People will also ensure that colleagues deliver a guest experience that is unique and brings the brand to life.

Key Responsibilities

General

People

  • Create programs to foster a positive work environment for all.
  • Train managers on HR disciplines to foster productivity and enhance performance.
  • Contribute, as a member of the Management team, to the formulation of an overall strategy for the organization and corporate decision making on a continuous basis.
  • Lead on the delivery of an effective and effortless recruitment process, which uses all available channels to build a pipeline of candidates that meets our future capability needs.
  • The establishment of a program of measurable Learning & Development interventions, including talent management and development programs.
  • Maintain a strong awareness of best practice for employees.
  • Coach the General Managers and leadership teams on all people-related issues.

Employer Branding

  • Development of a clear employer brand and proposition, that maximizes opportunities to attract candidates.
  • Lead on the identification of key drivers of engagement and attrition across our workforce.
  • The design and implementation of an internal communication strategy that promotes our future business strategy, using a variety of media solutions to drive awareness.
  • Drive the movement of the HR functions from a transactional led operation to a model that provides proactive strategy.

Guest Experience

  • Develop creative ways to inspire and motivate team members to provide guests with a memorable experience.
  • Make time to interact with guests to hear feedback and build relationships to understand how team members can increase guest satisfaction.
  • Work with department managers to develop initiatives to reach service standards and drive continuous improvement in the guest experience.

Strategy

  • Develop awareness and reputation of the hostel and the brand in the local community and promote team member involvement in the local community.
  • Collect and maintain data from exit interviews, turnover statistics, absenteeism reports to identify trends, training needs, and supervisory issues.
  • Conduct research and analysis of organizational trends including review of reports and metrics from the organizations.
  • Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  • Develop and implement department budget.
